Bradenton Area CVB’s One-of-a-Kind Tourism Week Event

May 30, 2017

BACVB Tourism Week 2017For the fourth consecutive year, Aqua and client the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (BACVB) hosted a one-of-a-kind, day-long event during National Tourism Week in celebration of the Bradenton Area’s successes and those who make the destination one of the best. This year’s event took place on May 12 at the Bradenton Area Convention Center.

The event began with a VIP media event during which area representatives presented a “Year in Review” for 2016, reporting an increase in visitors, expenditures, employment and economic impact as a result of the area’s visitation for the sixth consecutive year. Developers of the new hotel coming to the Convention Center property also shared never-before-seen 360-degree video renderings of the property.

Following the media event, the BACVB hosted an industry-wide Tourism Week celebration with “Crafting the Perfect Destination” theme and messaging, turning the Convention Center into an upscale food truck rally featuring local craft beers and food trucks – representing the area’s best dining – as well as games and more.

Dr. Larry R. Thompson, president of Ringling College of Art and Design, served as Keynote Speaker, and VISIT FLORIDA President and CEO Ken Lawson served as Guest Speaker, stressing the importance of continued support of tourism in the state of Florida.

Aqua’s PR and Creative teams contributed to making the event one of the most successful to date, organizing the media event, (securing county-wide media coverage), securing speakers, providing the event script, directing videos focused on the craft beer vendors and award recipients and designing the creative materials for the event including banners, programs and the 2016 Visitor Profile, complete with annual tourism stats, visitor information and more.

“The Bradenton Area’s annual Tourism Week event is one the entire team looks forward to year after year,” said Aqua President Dave Di Maggio. “We enjoy working with some of the best event planners in the industry at the BACVB and are thrilled to have contributed to the destination’s sixth consecutive year of record-breaking tourism and to help celebrate those who made it possible.”
