The Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau, the tourism entity for Charlotte County, Fla., has awarded a contract to Aqua Marketing & Communications effective in November 2015. The agency is tasked with overseeing the development and implementation of strategic public relations programs for the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau in an effort to increase awareness of Charlotte County within the U.S. and international travel marketplace, and further brand the area as a premier, year-round eco-tourism travel destination.

The St. Petersburg-based, full-service marketing and communications firm was selected out of multiple firms in contention for its deep expertise and proven experience in travel, tourism and hospitality marketing.

“Aqua has proven that it knows what it takes to differentiate and successfully market a destination through public relations and has displayed vast experience promoting niche markets of great importance to our county, including eco-tourism,” said Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau Director Lorah Steiner. “We are confident that together we will be able to build on the momentum Charlotte County has seen in driving visitation to our destination and look forward to great success.”

This contract comes on the heels of an expansion of marketing services provided by the agency to the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau. Following three years of providing creative support, Aqua was recently contracted to also oversee branding, campaign development and ad creation for the county.

“As a full-service marketing firm we are continuing to provide our clients with an integrated approach to their communication needs,” said Aqua President Dave Di Maggio. “We know what it takes to successfully position Charlotte County as a premiere Florida destination and we are excited to further assist the Visitor & Convention Bureau with creative campaign concepts that transcend all marketing disciplines and highlight the unique elements that set the county apart.”
