Aqua Marketing & Communications was recently retained by Tampa-based Metro Development Group –the developers behind the first Crystal Lagoon community in the country – to oversee its public relations efforts. The Public Relations team is now serving as media liaison for all upcoming Metro Development Group announcements, including the impending opening of its newest master-planned community of Epperson and the Metro Lagoon by Crystal Lagoons® amenity in Wesley Chapel.

Selected out of five firms in contention, Aqua will also oversee the development and implementation of a strategic public relations program designed to attract homeowners and further brand Metro Development Group as the gold standard in the development of master planned communities. The St. Petersburg-based, full-service marketing and communications firm will also assist with all Metro Places community relations, assist in the promotion of additional Metro projects, and provide on-going strategic counsel and as needed crisis management support.

“Aqua was selected for its award-winning work and extensive experience, and I am confident that we have the right team in place during a pivotal time in Metro Development Group’s history,” said Metro Marketing Director Jen Austin. “With the fast-approaching, official opening of the first US Metro Lagoon by Crystal Lagoons in the Epperson Community of Wesley Chapel, as well as many other exciting announcements related to additional Metro Places in the works, Metro and Aqua are poised for an exciting year.”

“At Aqua, we know what it takes to successfully position a community as a premier place to live and play, and we are excited to work with one of the most forward-thinking developers in the world and help build on the tremendous momentum Metro Development Group has seen as of late,” added Aqua President Dave Di Maggio.

Following the impending opening of the lagoon at Epperson, Aqua will serve Metro as it expands its footprint in Southwest and Central Florida with the opening of its next wave of lagoon communities: Southshore Bay in Hillsborough County (expected to open in 2019), followed by Brightwater in Ft. Myers (planned to open in 2020), with an additional six more Metro Lagoon communities in the works. Its Connected City, the first-ever gigabit internet community in the United States, is also currently under construction in Wesley Chapel.
