Aqua and Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach VCB Launch Summer Campaign

PG EB Summer Marketing CampaignOn the heels of rebranding the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach destination – including development of a new brand, logo, marketing message and tagline – Aqua Marketing & Communications has launched a fully-integrated summer marketing campaign, complete with refreshed photography, for client the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau.

Concepting the unique “Come Play Outside” campaign for the destination, Aqua identified the need for new photography. Though a great library existed, the campaign would require new iconic, signature shots of the area’s best outdoors assets in order to make the destination stand out and get noticed. Planned and directed by the agency, the photos were taken by Lifestyle Photographer Clark Griffiths. The new photography captures the essence of the Summer Campaign/Contest, showcasing Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach as the perfect place to “Come Play Outside” and make fun family memories this summer.

“At Aqua, we have a team that’s very strong at staying on the cutting edge, with a great depth and understanding of working with destination marketing clients,” said Aqua Creative Director Thom Hart. “We were particularly thrilled to lend our expertise to the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach VCB on this particular project and truly capture their oasis of outdoor adventure and fun.”

From the calm, serene nighttime standup paddleboarding, to the spray-in-your-face, on-the-water-rush of Riding the Waves’ powered catamarans, the photography showcases in-the-moment experiences that speak true to the one-of-a-kind, coveted outdoor activities for families in the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach area. Aqua worked with the client to identify idyllic locations photographed, a couple of which included Stump Pass and Palm Island.

The photography, development and deployment of the promotional campaign and contest, was a multi-faceted project in which the agency provided marketing, public relations, advertising and social media services for the client. Led and directed by the agency, social media tactics were carried out through the VCB’s social media agency of record, NM+U.

Awareness of the campaign and brand engagement were generated using various digital advertising channels to drive potential visitors to the VCB website campaign landing pages. Landing pages included a “Special Summer Offers” section highlighting partner offers. The Facebook Summer Memories Photo Contest was used to further engage potential travelers, with the Contest Page accessible through landing pages and boosted Facebook posts.

In addition, a multimedia press release was created and issued to targeted national travel media, with embedded images providing a snapshot of post-worthy, outdoor summer memories that are awaiting families in Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach this summer.
