Aqua Applauded for Best Work in Travel Marketing


Aqua Marketing & Communications attended the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Adrian Awards to take home three brand new accolades for our work with Visit Lauderdale, the destination marketing organization for Greater Fort Lauderdale. The event — now in its 67th year — is an industry ceremony celebrating excellence in travel marketing. The three awards presented to the Aqua team in New York City were for gold, silver and bronze.

The three awards that Aqua took home in partnership with Visit Lauderdale were for the following categories:

PR/Communications Influencer Marketing

Gold President’s Award


The agency’s groundbreaking episodic series, “Hidden in Plain Sight,” crafted in collaboration with internationally acclaimed artist, Avi Ram, captivated audiences worldwide. Avi seamlessly painted models into Greater Fort Lauderdale’s picturesque locales — but while being filmed, the models surprised viewers by exiting their locations. The entire artistic process was also documented with fun behind-the-scenes videos.

Aqua’s enchanting spectacle created with Visit Lauderdale garnered over 83 million views and three million likes across various digital platforms. This project not only won gold, but the prestigious Gold President’s Award that is only awarded to top trending division entries.

Aqua’s advertising partnership with Good Morning America propelled Greater Fort Lauderdale into the spotlight, reaching over 9.7 million impressions through linear TV programs and social media channels. This initiative underscored our commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and accessibility, echoing Visit Lauderdale’s mission to extend a warm embrace to all visitors.

Bronze Award


The Meetings Campaign Aqua developed showcased Greater Fort Lauderdale’s unique charm and sophistication, captivating business event planners worldwide. Through strategic branding and innovative messaging, the initiative captured 41 business events for 2023 and beyond, generating substantial economic impact and solidifying Greater Fort Lauderdale’s status as a premier destination for conferences and conventions.

These campaigns not only garnered critical acclaim but also delivered tangible results for Greater Fort Lauderdale, including significant increases in tourist development tax revenue, average daily room rates, and hotel revenue.

Overall, the three campaigns ultimately helped Greater Fort Lauderdale achieve:

  • A Tourist Development Tax revenue increase of 44% versus 2019 and increase of 2% versus 2022, which was a record-breaking year
  • An increase in the average daily room rate of 29% versus 2019 and 6% versus 2022
  • Increased hotel revenue of 44% versus 2019 and 7% versus 2022
